Bike to (insert location here)
NewsIn this day and age, biking is becoming bigger than ever. I like riding my bike, so when I heard from a huge biker down in the Cities that you should take a map and draw a 2 mile-wide, I wanted to see what fell within that range. Here’s what I got:
(Click for big)
I’ve marked some of the important places that I need to go to (notice the liquor stores and grocery stores). I’m actually marked a few areas just a bit outside of the circle. I guess I’m going to break the rules and go a little further than the 2 mile range. Don’t tell anyone.
If you want to check out for yourself where you should bike to, download Google Earth from here: http://earth.google.com, then get the latitude and longitude of your house, then punch it into this calculator: http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/calculators Use the “Draw range rings around a point” toward the bottom of the page, put in the lat & long you just got, and select “Google Earth” for the map format. Then open up the file that it outputs, and you can search and mark up the map to find stores, bars, etc., within your bike-to range.
